KPA School of Music Policy

LESSON SCHEDULING
KPA’s School of Music operates September through May, with both a Winter Recital and a Spring Recital included in the season.

Registration is open at any time; however, lessons begin at the start of the month to align with tuition payment withdrawals and scheduling. Withdrawals must be in by the first of the month.

Private lessons consist of one 30-minute session per week.

Should a family wish to withdraw from the program, 30 days written notice is required via email to: hello@kararperformingarts.com. To withdraw from classes, your 30-day notice must be given by the 1st of the month. For example, if you wish to withdraw by April 1st, your written notice must be submitted by March 1st. If your notice is given on March 15th, tuition will continue until May 1st.

Tuition for the 30 day notice period remains payable, and students are encouraged to attend their remaining scheduled lessons. Missed lessons during the notice period are non-refundable.

REGISTRATION & PAYMENT

All students must complete online registration and enroll in Auto-Pay.

  • A $50 annual registration fee (non-refundable) is due at the time of registration and covers materials used during lessons.
  • Monthly tuition is $155.00 per month and is automatically withdrawn on the 1st of each month.
  • Tuition covers one 30-minute lesson per week from September through May.

Tickets for both Winter and Spring Recitals will be available to purchase through your account.

KPA is committed to clear communication and transparent policies to ensure a positive and organized experience for all music families.

HOLIDAYS & CALENDAR
Please refer to the KPA School of Music Calendar of Events for holiday closures and school breaks.
KPA remains open on all PSD70 PD Days.
For statutory holidays, please check in directly with your private instructor regarding any sessions running or potential make-up lessons.

PARENT-TEACHER COMMUNICATION
Open communication between parents and teachers is key to student success. We encourage parents to stay in regular contact with their child’s instructor. Many teachers provide lesson updates via email and are happy to discuss progress or scheduling when needed.

MISSED LESSONS
Student Absence – ‘12-Hour Rule’
• Less than 12 hours’ notice: The lesson is considered ‘Absent – Billable’ and tuition will not be refunded and a makeup class not rescheduled.
• More than 12 hours’ notice: The teacher will:
• Mark it as ‘Absent – Billable with Make-Up’, meaning the prepaid tuition is applied, but a make-up session will be offered at a mutually convenient time.

Please note: no make-up classes are offered for group lessons.

TEACHER ABSENCE
If a teacher needs to cancel a lesson and a substitute is not available, it will be marked ‘Teacher Absent – Make-Up Lesson Required’, and instructors will schedule a make-up lesson.
