At KPA, students are placed in classes with specific outcomes in mind. We do this to encourage community, social connection and friendship building along with learning age appropriate dance and performance skills.

Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and Drama classes are organized according to registered grade level in school. This allows our performers to attend classes with their friends and peers of the same age. These classes tend to be some of our most popular genres available to students and often fill up quickly.

All of our technique based classes (Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Acro) are considered ‘placement’ classes starting at the age of 10. We have created our levelled program to accommodate our dancers based on age and dance experience. Regardless of dance experience, every class is designed to welcome brand new or experienced performers:

Ages 10-13: Level 1 Beginner, Level 2 Intermediate, Level 3 Advanced

Ages 14+: Level 4 Beginner, Level 5 Intermediate, Level 6 Advanced

For example, if your student is 15 years old and has limited dance experience, they would register as a Level 4 in any of the above listed genres. If your student age 10+ has dance experience, we will have them trial classes to find the best fit for them.
