KPA is proud to offer exceptional Ukrainian dance instruction to dancers of all ages across the Parkland region. Our program is designed to develop well-rounded, technically strong dancers — whether they’re dancing for fun or aiming for a professional future in the arts.
A Strong Foundation in Technique
Rooted in classical ballet, our Ukrainian dance program emphasizes ballet barre, character barre, and the rich variety of regional Ukrainian styles. Dancers gain strength, flexibility, and precision while exploring the vibrant cultural traditions that make Ukrainian dance so dynamic.
Perform, Compete, Grow
From ages 4 and up, dancers participate in engaging and energetic choreography tailored to their skill level. Students perform at festivals, community outreach events, and seasonal recitals — including our beloved Christmas and spring showcases.
More Than Dance – A Community
At KPA, we value more than just technique. Our students build lasting friendships, work as a team, and grow in confidence through community outreach and fundraising events. This supportive, family-like environment helps every dancer thrive.
WHY CHOOSE UKRAINIAN DANCE?
Ukrainian dance is ideal for developing versatile, confident dancers. It builds strong technical foundations through ballet and challenges dancers with performance-driven choreography.
• Male dancers gain strength, agility, and learn exciting tricks and partnering techniques.
• Female dancers develop poise, grace, and strong turning and partnering skills.
Whether your child is just starting out or ready to take the next step in their dance journey, we’d love to welcome you to our Ukrainian dance family.

Our Camaraderie

KPA UKRAINIAN COSTUMING
Costumes are a vital part of the Ukrainian dance experience – bringing the story, tradition, and regional character of each piece to life. Authentic Ukrainian costumes are vibrant, detailed, and culturally rich, adding depth to performances for both dancers and audiences alike.
To ensure that costuming is accessible to all, KaRAR Performing Arts has an established Ukrainian Costume Closet. This initiative is part of our broader Cultural Dance Accessibility Initiative, designed to remove financial barriers that might prevent families from participating in our Ukrainian dance program.
Rather than requiring families to purchase costumes outright, dancers now rent their costumes for the year. The rental fee includes full use of the costume and professional cleaning services – making it a convenient, cost-effective option for everyone involved.
Throughout the year, dancers also take part in fundraising efforts that support the maintenance and growth of the costume closet, helping to ensure future accessibility for all.
By easing the financial burden of costuming, we’re excited to open the door to more students who want to explore and celebrate Ukrainian culture through dance — making our program more inclusive, vibrant, and community-driven than ever before.
